The title stems from an early‑day sketchbook entry where Casey imagined a species of birds that lived in a utopic garden—one that never wilted, where each feather shimmered with a different hue of light. The metaphor of a “bird of paradise” (the real flower) evolved into an emblem of yearning for a place of emotional equilibrium: a space where heartbreak and joy could coexist, reflected in both the music and its lyrical narratives.
