The advent of mobile gaming in the early 2000s was dominated by Java Platform, Micro Edition (JAR) games. Titles such as Snake II , Diamond Rush , Galaxy on Fire , and Doom RPG were played on devices with small screens, numeric keypads, and limited storage. Today, many of these games have been delisted from official app stores. As a result, a community-driven practice known as has emerged as a grassroots method of digital preservation.
